Situated near Blessington in Wicklow, Russborough houses the renowned Beit Collection, one of the most significant collection of art in Ireland. The grounds also contains 200 acres of parklands offering walking trails, outdoor activites, bird of prey centre and an artistan's courtyard.
Working with the brand designer, Tom Kelly, I was asked to design and build a new website for the estate. The objective was to emphasise the history of the house and art collection, as well as give information on the parklands.
The client wanted to focus to the art collection, so this was reflected in the image choices for the site. Statues and decorative details were used as incidental images throughout the site.
The mainsite sections were split into Art, House and Park, with Visiting information, News and a Shop taking up the rest of the navigation.
Landing pages for each of the main sections were colour coded with the brand colour palette. This helped orientate the users, while reinforcing the new brand identity.
The What's On section allowed the Estate to add news stories, long form articles and updates to the site.
The content management system was built with a bespoke CraftCMS theme.
